CITB Leadership & Management
Description
CITB have developed a new framework of courses to support supervisors and managers with the skills needed to carry out their roles more effectively. It can also be used as personal development for those individuals with aspirations to move into a supervisory role, but who perhaps lack the confidence.
Standards include:

This can be delivered at our premises in Maidstone or at yours.
Who should attend?
This course has been designed for those looking to move into management or leadership roles who would like more training to help facilitate their transition into this role.
Course Programme
This course is organised into three modules:
Understanding training and coaching in construction
By the end of this module, trainees should understand:
- how to provide training appropriate to the workplace
- how to coach an individual in an organisation
- the use of training matrixes on site
- monitoring trainee performance
- delivering constructive feedback
- training needs analysis
- delivering appraisals
- training techniques
- learning styles
- evaluating the effectiveness of training delivering
- maintaining records
- how to identify and plan the coaching for individuals in the workplace
- monitoring and observing in the workplace
Developing yourself as a team leader
By the end of this module, trainees should understand:
- the roles and responsibilities of the team leader
- how to seek feedback on workplace performance to identify strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement
- understand the responsibilities of the team leader within the team and how are responsibilities are met
- relationship building
- the limits of the team leader’s authority and their accountability
- how to create a SWOT and development plan
- how to manage personal performance
Understanding, organising and delegating in construction
By the end of this module, trainees should understand how to:
- organise people to achieve objectives
- delegate to achieve workplace objectives
- plan the work and breaking down goals, analyse the skills needed, schedule the work required
- SMART goal setting and delegation of work
- motivating the team and understanding leadership styles
- leading by example and building a rapport
- how to identify the appropriate person for an activity on site
- how human resource planning can be used
- empowerment in the workplace
Certificates /Awards
On completion of the course, trainees will receive a CITB accredited Leadership and Management certificate.
Next Steps
Prime Qualification delivers NVQ Supervisory and Managerial qualifications from level 3 to level 7.
When completing a short CITB course with us such as the SMSTS or Leadership and Management training, you will receive a 10% discount when enrolling onto your NVQ.

Costs
If you are CITB registered and pay into the levy, you will be eligible for funding to help towards the cost of the qualification. Please notify us of your levvy number at the time of booking so we can process this for you.
